Didn’t think I would.
At the end of the show I asked Jason for a pick, he couldn’t find one, walked over to the table, handed one to me, shook my hand and walked off stage. Even typing that description of what will remain as one of my favorite memories brings an ear to ear smile to my face.
I soon felt the rush of emotion which left my face in the form of tears of overwhelming joy.
After years and years of observing his magic and infectious quirkiness, I was finally apart of it. I was singing along. I watched with my eyes and heard with my ears. Not through the camera of someone else.
Everything about the night was perfect. Jason, just a true testament of hard work, talent and a tremendous gift to inspire. Still my hero and role model after all these years.
I can’t wait to see him again in Sydney on the 20th. My friend gave him sunglasses to wear, hopefully he enjoys them or remembers.
Thank-you so much Jason.
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH for an AMZING AND BEAUTIFUL PERFORMANCE!
YOU GUYS ARE SO GOOD AND TALENTED!! LOVE THE WHALE SONG haha
Its a tick off on my bucket list to see Jason perform live, not forgetting Toca of course.
Your presence and concert is doing so much more for your fans than you think, and would like to thank you man. Appreciate it.
This has been an insane year for me. 13 of August I witnessed a car crash that killed my best mates fiance. I’m dating his sister and both my gf and I were at the scene When Fay Roberts passed( God bless her family). Both my mate an I have been charged and are fighting it in court atm, and face a long/expensive and stressful time ahead. It has been the biggest life changer for me and I am sure for every one involved too.
My Girlfriend moved to NZ from Aussie 2days before the crash (first week in August 2011) and its been an unsettling time for us. This concert has been the bit of joy to look forward to through this dark time..(I even have a court date the morning 15 Nov) My gf and I both love your music and I used a lot of your songs to not just help me win her heart but theme most of our best memories together. I managed to get her these tickets for her birthday, She’s the best thing that happened to me, and Is truly a special person that has a lot to offer this world in her own small way. A bit about her, her dream is to be a nurse and work with the elderly who can not take care of themselves, and because she is a painter as well wan’ts to use art as some sort of special therapy with them.
Reason why I mentioned all this is so you could have a bit of an idea of what this request would mean to me gf, and me. I kindly request of you that If you are planning to perform ‘lucky’ in auckland. If you could please dedicate it to Chely Gacitua from her future Husband Rowan Matthews. Whether this gets through to you or not, its Ok. At least I’m trying. Hope you have safe journeys and successful shows.
regards to you and your team
