What would love do?

November 16, 2011

A few years ago I had the pleasure of writing a song for an amazing documentary; a film about sex, drugs, and transformation. Inspired by courageous characters and their generous ways of being, I not only wrote one of my favorite songs, but I too was transformed by the experience. Through this powerful film, I discovered what happens when you let your heart lead you.

With the holidays fast approaching so too are those New Year’s Resolutions and I can think of no better gift for yourself and your family than May I Be Frank, which is now available on DVD. (to order just click on the title.)

I promise you will be entertained, re-awakened, broken down, and brought to tears by this triumphant, non-scripted documentary about letting go and loving yourself. See what others have to say and then see it for yourself.

Just now, i had this course which enlightened us, the learners on the topic ‘reflective and dialogical teaching’.. Have to say that i can relate so much with everything that had been discussed as it has been long taught thru his words in his songs by this favorite musician of mine..

Really, feeling gratitude for his inspiration.

“What would Love Do Now” is such beautiful song. I love it. I love MAY I BE FRANK too, will definitely be buying the double DVD. I had a copy of the single DVD and shared it with my neighbor …not sure if she will be returning it, either way I’m super curious to see the double set.

“What Would Love Do” is one of my favourite JM songs. I remember tearing up when I heard it for the first time. It’s become my “go to” phrase when pondering life’s situations. Vintage Mraz :)

And may I be frank? Frank is lookin’ smokin’ HOT these days! :)

So many emotions rise watching this trailer and then going to the web site (and yes ordering). Most people I know are searching for healing in some area of their life. So many are stuck. I include myself in that group as I struggle daily raising one of my sons who we adopted as a 4 year old who has a history of trauma and neglect. I have two other children who are thriving. My middle son is filled with shame and anger that I can’t take away – and in fact my frustration parenting him (since he has many behavior issues) adds to the problem. I’ve been brought to me knees with him and the future scares me. Traditional therapies are not enough for us. I am just beginning to explore mindfulness practices for myself and for my son and I look forward to watching Frank’s story. Jason – your music and example has been a gift to my family – it is spiritual and real and a source of unending joy. I saw you perform What Would Love Do at Feinstein’s in 2009 and immediately shared it with our Youth Pastor (a cool dude who leads the teens) to use in our “Uncommon Worship” service. Thanks for dropping breadcrumbs for us – we are listening! XO, JRJID

Just by reading the “About the film” section you get inspired. I will definitely be ordering this, if not out of plain curiosity then because if this 4 minute video and a few paragraphs tugged on my heartstrings, I can only imagine what the film will do, for myself and everyone I affect. And if I had not been a part of this community I most likely would have never even heard of this-you really are doing something amazing. Thank you for sharing.
